About Kaalita
|
|
Kaalita was created by Terry and Shailja Curell out of a passion for the iconic
images of south India’s Chola dynasty. They feel these outstanding sculptures
are relatively unknown outside of a few art collectors and are working to bring
these beautiful figures to everyone who appreciates their compelling blend of
earthy sensuality and powerful sacred presence.
Each sculpture is created exclusively for Kaalita - one piece at a time. From
the first wax model to the final patina, we work very closely with the
sthapathi, or craftsmen, to ensure Kaalita offers only the finest workmanship
and quality.
Shailja‘s training in Fine Art design, a Sociology degree and 15 years
experience in export trade and Terry passion for photography and art has made
Kaalita a reality.
